The HRT Index Editorial Team
The responsible editor and editorial process behind every page published on The HRT Index.
The HRT Index is produced by a team of independent health-and-medicine researchers, writers, and editors covering women's hormone health. The byline at the top of every report reads “The HRT Index Editorial Team.” This page describes who that team is, how it is structured, and what its standing commitments are.
Who we are
The HRT Index is currently edited by the founder of The HRT Index LLC, who is responsible for final editorial decisions, provider methodology, source verification, corrections, conflict-of-interest review, and update cycles.
The site uses a collective byline, “The HRT Index Editorial Team,” for comparison pages because each page may involve research, editing, source review, and future clinical review. However, the responsible editor named above is accountable for the published page until additional named editors are added.
The founder is not a clinician and does not provide medical advice. Pages without clinical review are labeled “Editorial research — not medically reviewed.”
How the team is structured
The editorial team is led by an Editor-in-Chief responsible for final editorial decisions, ranking methodology, corrections, and conflict-of-interest review. The team includes researchers, staff writers, contributing writers, and copy editors. Where a piece of content has been clinically reviewed, the reviewing clinician's name and credentials appear at the top of the page alongside the editorial team byline; see our medical review policy for the rules on when clinical review is performed and how it is labelled.
The team writes under a collective byline on comparison pages because each major report is the product of multiple people — at minimum a writer and an editor, and often a researcher as well. However, each page has an accountable editor. When a page is clinically reviewed, the named clinician reviewer and review date appear in the byline area.
AI and editorial tools
We may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, for outlining, research organization, drafting support, copy editing, and formatting. AI output is never treated as a source. Final claims, rankings, provider descriptions, safety language, and medical framing are reviewed by human editors against our source standards. Clinical claims are either reviewed by a named clinician or labeled clearly as editorial research not medically reviewed.
Our standing commitments
- We label every page with its medical-review status. We do not falsify the “clinically reviewed” label.
- As of May 2026, no provider links on this site are affiliate links. When active affiliate relationships are established, affected links will be labeled and disclosed above the fold on every page that contains them.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for inclusion, ranking, or editorial copy.
- We do not fabricate quotes, testimonials, sample sizes, hands-on testing claims, credentials, or social proof.
- We correct errors visibly and log every correction at /corrections/.
